Detailed Information

Mid North Coast Legal Centre (MNCLC) is a community legal centre operating under the auspice of Advocacy Law Alliance Inc. (ALA) in Australia. MNCLC offers free legal services, including information, advice, advocacy, and education to empower individuals with knowledge of their rights and the ability to resolve disputes. Established in 2011, MNCLC was created in response to the significant need for legal support in dealing with the justice system for disadvantaged residents in the Mid North Coast region of New South Wales.

Committed to providing high-quality social and legal advocacy, MNCLC focuses on servicing regional, rural, and remote communities, as well as metropolitan areas. The organization’s core values of courage, caring, creativity, and connectedness drive its mission to ensure all individuals have access to equity and fairness in the legal system. MNCLC acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land and is dedicated to fostering positive relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities through its Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and ongoing commitment to reconciliation.

Under the ALA auspice, MNCLC collaborates with Disability Advocacy NSW (DANSW) to provide legal advocacy to disadvantaged groups and non-legal advocacy services to people with disabilities. By combining the expertise of various professions, including lawyers, social workers, and disability workers, MNCLC aims to achieve the best outcomes for its clients. Beyond direct advocacy assistance, the organization is actively involved in community education, systemic change, law reform, and research to ensure that disadvantaged individuals receive fair treatment and access to justice.
