Detailed Information

Dolphin Discovery Centre Bunbury offers a range of exciting experiences for visitors of all ages and capabilities. From the FREE Dolphin Interaction Zone to Dolphin Eco-Cruises, Discovery & Interpretive Centre, and Swim With The Dolphin Tour, there is something for everyone to enjoy. The Centre also provides Whale-Watching Tours in the Southwest Region, led by eco-tourism certified operators covering the North & Southward Migration from May to Nov.

Established in 1994, Dolphin Discovery Centre is a non-profit organization dedicated to conservation, eco-tourism, education, and research projects. Collaborating with universities, government departments, and like-minded organizations locally and internationally, the Centre focuses on the well-being of the wild dolphin population and marine environment. Volunteers play a crucial role in managing the dolphin interaction program and guiding visitors, contributing to public awareness about marine life and conservation efforts.

With a rich history dating back to the 1960s when local resident Mrs. Evelyn Smith began feeding dolphins in the Leschenault Inlet, the Centre has evolved to become a hub for dolphin research, interaction, and conservation. Home to approximately 50 resident dolphins and frequented by an additional 100 throughout the year, Koombana Bay in Bunbury is a dolphin hotspot. By supporting the Dolphin Discovery Centre through donations and participation in tours and events, visitors can help protect the future of marine life in the region.
